I was looking for somewhere delicious and casual for a night out with friends, and found this gem. The food and service was amazing (the four of us had the seafood linguine, chicken fried steak, chicken and waffles, and the jambalaya). I definitely recommend this place. Helpful tip - if you like your food spicy, make sure to let them know!

Went here for valentine's day, great service, an awesome atmosphere - the food was perfect. You will not find a better restaraunt in the gorge. The only comparable restaraunts are in portland at $60 a plate. Do not miss this place if you are driving through hood river.

I Enjoyed a perfectly prepared Oregon rockfish sandwich for lunch for $12. Ever get a sandwich w too much roll and lacking the goods inside? Well not here. Perfectly seasoned succulent chunks of this crusted fish were falling out of the sides and gobbled up and when i returned to sandwich each time it still had plenty of fish girth to fill the tasty toasted roll which was slathered w pesto and a very Tasty special sauce. Complimented w a slaw on the bun, his may have been my favorite fish sangitch ever. The dinner we had the evening prior offered a while roasted trout which had a cornmeal crust and a light sauce that brought me back for lunch the next day Did i mention the Ketel One Bloody Mary w asparagus and pickle garnish was also worthy if praise? See pic. Also tasted a BLT on Texas toast with large heirloom tomato slice and thick bacon perfectly crisped but still chewy. Ground chuck burger was also great so and a nice ciabatta bun Again with caramelized onions - wow This is a small and friendly find that offers attentive service and is blessed with a fantastic chef. The owner Brian works hard and bends over backwards to please. and staff is a family affair too so expect a smile from his daughter who meticulously prepared the drinks and served. Wedge salad w thick cut bacon slice was a great side as were the black-eyed peas and perfectly prepared french fries. Grilled shrimp and large Pacific oyster on half shell maybe today ? Or maybe the skillet clams ir Dungeness crab cakes. Hopefully will have more friends join us again so we can taste and share all their offerings again. Dry aged ribeye could be calling me too! Check out this special find just off the lobby of the Hood River Hotel!

I'm a little disappointed in this place. There were only four choices of entrees on the menu. I got the rockfish sandwich and my husband got the burger. Both selections were really interesting and very nicely prepared. Both selections ran around $12 with no side salads, fries, or anything. If it was just this, I probably would have rated it four stars, but the service was not good. This was Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Other restaurants in town were bustling, but we were one of only three couples in the place. Still, they only stopped at our table once for us to order and once to bring the food. I had to go to the bar to request the check. I can see how people would like the place, but until they work a little harder on the variety, value, or service, I vote them overpriced.

Loved Hope! The Absinthe Minded was yummy and the collard greens were the best I have EVER had. I tried the Beef Tongue which was to die for and snuck a bite or two of the chicken and waffles. The pear & arugula salad was also refreshing.

I have been meaning to write a review on this restaurant for a long time. This is the perfect restaurant for Hood River. It's about time oysters on the half shell are being served. The chef is amazing and combines soul food with everyday traditions. I recommend their mac and cheese and somehow, the chef knows how to perfect it gluten free style. Try everything on their menu as I have yet to find something that I didn't like. Finally, if you have room for dessert, you must try his bread pudding. I don't have any other words to describe it other than heaven.

Folks, the food is OUTSTANDING, Hood River needs to get behind these folks as their restaurant is small and it will take a full house to make their business fly, and it will be our lose if they fail. You may ask why 4 stars instead of 5? Two easily fixable errors. First, I ordered a specialty martini ( with homemade blueberry syrup and lemon juice- it was outstanding! I had expressed some concern it might be to sweet so the waitress had them put a little less syrup in it). I had only had a few sips when the entree arrived....A case of the waitress not being observant, hence a 1/2 star deduct. Then once I was finished with dinner and put my card out, it took a long time for it to be collected. Hence, the second 1/2 star deduct. But the dinner... It was great. I had the Etoufee, a southern dish with shelled crawfish and shrimp. WOW, For desert I had a bread pudding. I rarely order this but a patron near me had it and he was raving about it.. I, too, found it too be a memorable treat. The same fellow had their special ribeye with shrimp and he was a vocal advocate. All the night's specials sounded great. I highly recommend you try them out. I do not know if they take reservations but if they do, I would recommend you do so as if the word gets out, you will need them! I look forward to my next visit.

Great meal, great service, and just all around nice experience. The menu has a lot of variety so there is something for everyone. Try the blueberry maple salad, the rib eye, the chicken fried steak, the sliders - whatever you try, you will not be disappointed. And they have a unique and interesting (great) drink menu.

Very nice restaurant. We had two Cajun chicken burgers, two salads, and the carrot curry soup, which was "the best soup I've ever had" according to one of us. The chicken sandwiches were good (just a tad dry) with tasty seasoning. The fries were the best kind - fat and juicy. The service was excellent - the owner obviously cares and is a nice guy. Will likely stop by again but I'll probably have the Philly cheesesteak or pork sliders, both of which also looked good and I almost got.

Thanks Brian! Sounds like it was an e-mail mix-up--- just talked with him, and he made it right. We appreciate your help, and we will be back!
